AmourCoco is more than a coconut brand. It is a story of heritage, resilience and purpose.
Our founder’s journey began in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, where coconuts were woven into everyday life. She grew up watching her father climb towering coconut trees in their backyard, while her mother transformed every part of the coconut into nourishing meals, traditional recipes, natural remedies and cherished family traditions.
In their home, nothing was wasted.
Every coconut had a purpose and every meal was made with love. Those moments shaped a deep appreciation for nature, family and the simple joy of sharing food with the people you love.
Late 1990s
But in the late 1990s, life changed forever.
As the civil war reached her hometown, her family was forced to leave behind the home they loved, the memories they cherished and the life they had always known. Arriving in the United Kingdom meant starting again from nothing, carrying only their resilience, hope and the values that had been passed down through generations. It was a journey of uncertainty, sacrifice and courage that would shape the future in ways they could never have imagined.
Years later
Years later, those experiences became the inspiration for AmourCoco.
As a female founder, she wanted to build more than a business. She wanted to create a brand that honours her family’s journey, celebrates the culture that shaped her and shares the natural goodness of coconut with the world. Through AmourCoco, she hopes to inspire others especially young women to embrace their roots, believe in their dreams and discover that even life’s greatest challenges can become the foundation for something extraordinary.
Today
Today, AmourCoco brings premium, ethically sourced coconut products including coconut water, coconut milk, coconut aminos and more, across the UK and Europe. Every product reflects our commitment to quality, authenticity, sustainability and respect for the communities that cultivate these remarkable coconuts.
