Honey Garlic Chicken Stir-Fry with Coconut Aminos: Ready in 25 Minutes

Honey garlic chicken is a weeknight classic, but it usually leans on soy sauce for its savoury backbone. This version swaps in AmourCoco coconut aminos, which gives the glaze a rounder, slightly sweeter depth and keeps the whole dish soy-free and gluten-free. Seared chicken, crisp-tender vegetables, and a glossy honey garlic sauce all come together in one pan in about 25 minutes and you Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry is ready!

  • 3 carrots, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 head bok choy or broccoli, chopped
  • Sliced spring onions, to garnish

  • For the honey garlic sauce:
  • 4 tbsp AmourCoco coconut aminos
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced

Allergens: check each ingredient’s label.

Method

  1. Step 1

    Season the Chicken

Toss the chicken pieces with a pinch of salt and pepper until evenly coated.

  2. Step 2

    Sear the Chicken

Heat a splash of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

💡 Pro Tip: Cook the chicken in two batches if your pan is small. Crowding it steams the chicken instead of browning it.

  3. Step 3

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

Add a little more oil to the pan if needed, then add the carrots and bok choy (or broccoli). Cook for 2–3 minutes, until tender-crisp.

  4. Step 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together the coconut aminos, honey, garlic, and ginger until the honey has dissolved.

  5. Step 5

    Combine and Glaze

Return the chicken to the pan with the vegetables and pour the sauce over everything. Toss for about 3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the chicken in a glossy glaze.

  6. Step 6

    Serve

Scatter with spring onions and serve over rice or cauliflower rice while hot.

Serving Suggestions

For a thicker, stickier glaze, stir 1 tsp of cornflour into the sauce before adding it to the pan. For extra heat, add a pinch of chilli flakes with the garlic and ginger at step 4. For extra garlic flavour, AmourCoco’s Organic Garlic Coconut Amino Sauce works well in place of the original. Tofu or tempeh makes an easy swap for the chicken if you’d like a vegan version. Press and cube it, then brown it as in step 2.
